Target is rolling out exclusive deals and discounts of up to 50% this Black Friday week, aiming to draw more shoppers into its stores. The company’s strategy is clear: make the in-store shopping experience a key part of the value.
Amid Rising Online Shopping, Target Pushes Experiential Black Friday Strategy
America’s biggest retail giant, Target, has recently announced a weeklong Black Friday celebration from November 23 to November 29. The brand is offering numerous deals, discounts, and giveaways; the only catch is that they are only for in-store shoppers.
Target designed the promotion to counter growth in online shopping and drive in-store traffic. Target believes it’s an “experience full of joy, discovery, and unbeatable savings.”
Talking about the weeklong celebrations, Rick Gomez, executive vice president and chief commercial officer of Target, shared, “We’re turning Black Friday into a multi-day celebration made just for them.”
The brand will continue the saving spree with its Cyber Monday event, to be held from November 30 to December 1, and will offer online deals only.
In-Store Experiences
The in-store Black Friday celebrations at Target will begin at 6 a.m. on November 28, and will feature giveaways including:
- The first 100 shoppers at every Target store will receive a free limited-edition iridescent holiday tote, which will be filled with surprises.
- Ten shoppers at each Target store will be rewarded with extra prizes worth $99 to $350, including a Target Circle 360 membership, a $100 Target GiftCard, a Laifen hair dryer, a Ninja slushie machine, or Beats Solo 4 headphones.
Along with that, customers can also enjoy samples of Starbucks’ new Frozen Peppermint Hot Chocolate, available only inside Target cafés.

The fun does not end here; shoppers can also play The JoyPop Game, inspired by Target’s Alpine Village holiday theme. The game is an in-store giveaway booth where pressing the joy popper reveals gifts like Yeti-themed tags, iridescent wrapping paper, and more, all inspired by Target’s Alpine Village holiday theme.
Apart from these deals, Target is also launching seven exclusive Black Friday products. These new exclusive products are designed to make gifting more fun.
- “Wicked: For Good” Vinyl & Collector’s Book
- Mario Kart Racing Jacket (limited-edition Target x Nintendo jacket)
- Target-Exclusive Trading Cards (Topps Basketball Black Friday Edition and exclusive Pokémon bundles)
- New Champion Team Collection (NFL and NCAA apparel)
- Blogilates by Cassey Ho
- Baby Three Plush Collectibles
Exclusive Deals and Deep Discounts from Nov 23-29
Gomez further added, “From incredible daily deals on the most-wanted gifts to in-store-only surprises, every moment of Black Friday at Target is designed to make it easier—and more joyful—for our guests to create lasting holiday memories.”
Exclusive deals that will run through the Black Friday sale week:
- Up to 50% off on several items, including tech and video games from top brands, popular toys like Barbie, Spiderman, and more, small appliances and floor care, and select Beats headphones.
- The store is offering 40% off select sweatshirts and denim for everyone.
- Shoppers can save up to $200 on select Apple products and $100 on PlayStation 5 consoles.
Despite the growing dominance of online shopping, Target is focusing on a strategic push to keep its customers engaged in its physical stores. With weeklong Black Friday deals, the brand is encouraging in-store shopping experiences.
