The Dawg House Burgers and More, LLC has officially filed for bankruptcy. The casual dining eatery’s decision is prompted by a large amount of debt. Operations are expected to continue as normal for patrons at the Buford, Georgia-based establishment.​

Buford Burger Spot Files for Chapter 11

The company filed a voluntary Chapter 11 petition on February 18 in the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Northern District of Georgia, according to federal court records.

The company is classified as a “small business debtor” under federal bankruptcy law. Based on the same, the limited liability company decided to proceed under Subchapter V of Chapter 11 bankruptcy.

​The filing records also mention that The Dawg House Burgers and More, LLC’s aggregate noncontingent liquidated debts are less than $3,424,000.

Attorney Douglas Jacobson of Law Offices of Douglas Jacobson, LLC, is representing the company in court. Michael S. Samuels signed the petition as the company’s authorized representative.

Samuels said ongoing lung damage was aggravated by ventilation issues at the Sugar Hill space. One of his family members also faced a medical emergency at that time, prompting Samuels to step back and close the outlet.
