As summer begins, ice cream brands across the country are unveiling new seasonal treats. The newest addition to the list is the Minnesota-based ice cream chain Dairy Queen. The beloved ice cream brand is bringing an array of flavors, including two fan favorites that were previously discontinued.

Highlights

  • Dairy Queen is bringing new summer flavors right before its 85th anniversary in June.
  • The Confetti Cake Blizzard, which was launched in 2012, is returning for a limited time.
  • The Cherry Dipped Cone is the second discontinued summer treat that is returning to Dairy Queen’s menu.

Lost Fan-Favorite Treats Return to Dairy Queen’s Summer Menu for a Limited Time

In celebration of its 85th anniversary, Dairy Queen is bringing back two discontinued treats for a limited time. While one was a previous champion on its Blizzard menu, the other was one of the most ordered dipped cone flavors. Both items are returning to menus this season for a limited time.

Confetti Cake Blizzard

In a recent Instagram post shared by Dairy Queen, the ice cream chain listed out fresh new Blizzard items. One of these is the ‘Confetti Cake Blizzard,’ which debuted in 2012. Made with confetti sprinkles and cake pieces blended into vanilla soft serve, the treat became a fan favorite in a short period of time.

However, Confetti Cake Blizzard was removed from the menu and brought back for a limited time in 2014. After a second hiatus, the Blizzard treat is making a comeback this season, again for a limited time.

Cherry Dipped Cone

Cherry Dipped Cone was one of the highest-ordered dipped cone flavors at the ice cream chain before its discontinuation in 2023. Although it was brought back in March 2024, the seasonal treat went off the menu again before the end of summer 2024.

Ahead of its 85th anniversary in June, Dairy Queen announced new seasonal flavors this spring. One name that made fans happy was the Cherry Dipped Cone. The classic cherry flavor is returning for a limited time.

With the weather heating up and Dairy Queen nearing its 85th anniversary, the beloved ice cream brand is bringing back nostalgic flavors. The limited-time offerings of the Confetti Cake Blizzard and the Cherry Dipped Cone will offer fans a fun summer treat.
