Food To Live has released an urgent recall of its products. The products may be contaminated with Salmonella, a bacterium that can cause serious illness. Multiple illnesses related to the product led to this move.
Urgent Recall of Food To Live Products Issued
Food To Live, in cooperation with the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA), has issued an urgent recall. The recall covers two products: Organic Moringa Leaf Powder and Organic Supergreens Powder Mix. Both products may be contaminated with Salmonella and should be discarded right away.
Multiple illnesses were reported, which were soon investigated by the FDA. FDA testing identified Salmonella in a specific supplier lot of the Organic Moringa Powder.
The company was notified of an outbreak of salmonellosis linked to the product. The recall was initiated soon after, and Food To Live immediately ceased the distribution of the specific product.
Salmonella is an organism that can cause serious and sometimes fatal infections in people. Healthy adults typically experience fever, diarrhea, vomiting, and similar symptoms. However, for children, the frail and the elderly may experience more serious and fatal repercussions.
In rare cases, the bacteria can enter the bloodstream and lead to serious complications like arterial infections, endocarditis, and arthritis.
