FDA Warns Consumers After English Muffins Recalled in Several States for Undeclared Allergen

Cincinnati-based Blue Oven Bakery has voluntarily recalled its English muffins after discovering undeclared milk that could cause allergic reactions in those with dairy sensitivities. The muffins were distributed across several states and have since been pulled from all retail locations.

Blue Oven Bakery Recalls English Muffins

Founded in 2007, Blue Oven Bakery is known for its handcrafted breads and commitment to traditional baking methods. The bakery’s lineup includes a range of artisan breads, pastries, and English muffins. The recall, issued on October 31, 2025, affects select batches of the bakery’s English muffins.

The FDA published the recall on November 6, 2025, citing undeclared milk on the product label. This issue falls under misbranding and might lead to allergic reactions in people who are intolerant or sensitive to milk and milk products.

Details of the Recall

The recalled 13.04-ounce English muffins were sold in clear plastic bags. The recalled batch was manufactured from April 24, 2025, to October 24, 2025, and was distributed at stores in the following locations:

  • Harvest Market: 308 Main St., Milford, OH 45150
  • Country Fresh Market: 8315 Beechmont Ave. #15 Cincinnati, OH 45255
  • Kremers Market: 755 Buttermilk Pike, Crescent Springs, KY 41017
  • Back Ally Mercantile: 221 Walnut St. #102 Lawrenceburg, IN 47025
  • European Cafe: 9450 Montgomery Rd. Cincinnati, OH 45242

Customers and retailers are urged to check their shelves for the affected Blue Oven English muffins. Fortunately, to date, no case of allergy or illness due to the product has been reported.
