Healthcare Products Company Files chapter 11 Bankruptcy

Maxill, Inc. has filed for bankruptcy protection after reporting significant difference between its assets and liabilities. The medical and health equipment manufacturer says it would reorganize its business through this process while continuing normal operations.

Cortland-Based Medical Supplier Seeks Bankruptcy Protection

According to Pacer, the Cortland, Ohio manufacturer filed with the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Northern District of Ohio on December 9. The company entered the process under a Subchapter V Chapter 11 petition.

The Ohio-based company produces infection-control products, dental supplies, and oral-hygiene essentials. Maxill, Inc. specializes in dentistry, personal protective equipment (PPE), infection prevention and control (IPAC), and healthcare disposables.

Attorney Michael A. Steel from Steel & Company Law Firm is legally representing Maxill, Inc. in the latest Chapter 11 case. Judge Tiiara NA Patton is overseeing the proceedings in the bankruptcy court. Company president John D. Shaw signed the petition.

The filing notes that BaderCap Pty, Ltd is the largest creditor of the Ohio-based medical and health product manufacturer. Other major creditors include Dana Robie and the company’s Canadian affiliate.

On behalf of the Ohio-based manufacturer, Attorney Michael A. Steel submitted the petition for a fee amount of $1,738. The court then directed the company to file its Disclosure Statement and Chapter 11 Corporate Resolution by December 23. Maxill, Inc. must submit Schedules A/B, C, D, E/F, G, H, I, J, and A/B-J on the same day.

Apart from these, the bankruptcy court instructed the medical and health product manufacturer to submit the SSN/Tax ID, Statement of Financial Affairs, Summary of Assets and Liabilities, and further incomplete filings by December 23 itself.

The company’s deadline to file its Small Business Subchapter V plan is March 9, 2026.

Following this, the Ohio-based company submitted its Corporate Resolution and Amended Corporate Ownership Statement on December 9.

On the same day, attorney Lauren Schoenewald, while representing the U.S. Trustee, filed a notice to receive all the documents in the latest case for Maxill, Inc.

As key filings are scheduled to be submitted in the coming weeks, Maxill, Inc.’s future depends on its Subchapter V restructuring plan and the court’s decisions as it attempts to regain its financial footing.
