Zingerman’s Candy Manufactory has issued an urgent recall for two of its candy bars. It was due to the presence of undeclared allergens in the product. The undeclared allergens could trigger severe or life-threatening reactions in those with allergies.
Urgent Recalls Issued for Candy Bars Containing Undeclared Allergen
On October 24, 2025, Zingerman’s Candy Manufactory initiated a recall in cooperation with the FDA for two of its candy bar products. The products contain undeclared cashews and peanuts, according to the company.
Zingerman’s initiated the recall after discovering that its Peanut Butter Crush bars failed to list cashews and its Cashew Cow bars omitted peanuts. The oversight poses a serious risk for consumers with peanut or cashew allergies.
An internal investigation was launched to determine the cause of the error. The issue appears to have stemmed from a temporary breakdown in production and packaging. The company said it quickly took corrective action after discovering the issue.
