Several major fast-food chains are rolling out limited-time menu items in the coming weeks. This year’s seasonal lineup highlights seafood offerings for Lent, festive mint-flavored treats for St. Patrick’s Day, and indulgent limited-time desserts. From Dairy Queen to Freddy’s Frozen Custard & Steakburgers, all are introducing new menu items, according to Snachwithzach’s social media post.

Spring and St. Patrick’s Day-themed Flavors Arrive at Top Chains

Major fast-food restaurant chains with global followings are updating their menus with limited-time editions. Several of these chains are also offering St. Patrick’s Day-inspired mint beverages and fish loaded platter for the start of Lent.

According to Snachwithzach, a food-focused social media account, new items debuting soon include:

  • Wendy’s Chicken Tenders Ranch Wrap and a Cheesy Bacon Cheeseburger, launching on February 16.
  • Dairy Queen will launch the Mint Crunchin’ Cookie Dipped Cone starting February 23.
  • On March 3, Burger King plans to introduce a frozen strawberry and cream drink.

Multiple Fan-Favorite Seasonal Items Return

Apart from all the new launches, the fast-food chains are also bringing back seasonal favorites over the next week. For St. Patrick’s Day, Dairy Queen is reintroducing the Mint OREO Blizzard Treat, a longtime fan-favorite item.

Another St. Patrick’s Day-themed item, Thin Mints Frosty, is returning at Wendy’s on February 16. Burger King brings back its Maple Bacon lineup on February 17, including the Maple Bourbon Bacon Whopper and breakfast sandwiches.

McDonald’s will reintroduce the Shamrock Shake and Shamrock McFlurry beginning February 17.

During Lent, the 40 days leading up to Easter, many Christians give up certain foods or habits to focus on prayer and reflection. Catholics also avoid eating meat on Fridays during this time.

As a result, the Whatacatch Fish Sandwich and Platter make a comeback at Whataburger from February 17 through April 6.

Freddy’s Frozen Custard & Steakburgers and The Habit Burger Grill are also bringing back seasonal fish sandwiches starting February 18.

Nothing Bundt Cakes will offer its Banana Pudding Bundt through April 5.

These seasonal menu updates show how fast-food chains are competing closely with one another. With new limited-time items and returning items, brands aim to attract customers and stay ahead in a crowded market.
