2025 proved to be a rough year for the trucking industry. From interstate freight carriers to longtime national trucking chains, around eight well-known companies filed for bankruptcy. Rate compression, mounting debts, and unorganized finances were among the different reasons that contributed to the bankruptcies.

While not many details are available regarding the total number of assets, liabilities, and creditors, the bankruptcy of Montgomery Transport, LLC made quite the headlines this year. A primary reason for the same is that the Alabama-based company shut down following the proceedings.
Based on the complete closure, nearly 1,000 employees at Montgomery Transport, LLC were suddenly jobless. The future state of the trucking company also seems to be uncertain as of now.

As the ongoing cases progress through the courts, their outcomes may influence the trucking industry in the coming year.
