Lunds & Byerlys is voluntarily recalling a batch of its L&B Monster Cookies. The company focuses on locally sourced and organic products, with an emphasis on sustainability and innovation.

Why Lunds & Byerlys Recalled Monster Cookies

Lunds & Byerlys is a Minnesota-based, family-owned grocery retailer, dedicated to an excellent shopping experience. Mislabeling prompted the recall because it failed to mention three potential allergens: peanut, egg, and soy.

The company issued a voluntary recall notice on December 9, 2025, for its monster cookies because the label did not list a few ingredients. The U.S. Food and Drug Administration also published information about the recall on December 10, 2025.

An employee noticed that the cookies had been labeled incorrectly, omitting any mention of peanuts, eggs, or soy. It was then reported to the company’s Quality Assurance team, which led to the recall.

Details of the Recalled Product

The recalled L&B Monster Cookies were available for purchase from November 15, 2025, through December 9, 2025, at all Lunds & Byerlys stores throughout the Twin Cities and St. Cloud.

The packages contain undeclared peanuts, egg, and soy. Here are the specific details:

Brand Name & Description UPC
L&B Monster Cookie 18169-66862 (This is the UPC for the brand’s Tex-Mex Turkey Wrap and was mistakenly applied to the cookies)

Symptoms of Peanut, Egg, and Soy Allergy

Reactions to peanut, egg, or soy could range from hives, itching, and swelling of the lips, face, or throat to stomach ache, nausea, and vomiting. In the case of peanut allergy, breathing difficulties can occur, while an egg allergy may manifest in coughing and wheezing.

Soy allergy may provoke digestive disturbances like diarrhea or respiratory complaints. In rare cases, exposure can trigger a severe allergic reaction such as anaphylaxis that needs immediate medical intervention.

To date, no cases of illness have been reported due to the cookies. However, people with any allergies to any of the three mentioned allergens should avoid consumption of the affected batch.
