With summer heating up, beverage brands are rolling out refreshing options across the country. A new study reveals which drink is grabbing the most attention across the U.S. Coca-Cola came out on top in 14 states, according to the survey.

Coca-Cola Earns a New Title
Fitting with the current summer season, Power Brands released a study spotlighting soda preferences across the U.S. According to Allrecipes.com, the Sherman Oaks-based company reported results based on its analysis nationwide.
The study confirms that soda remains a top choice across the U.S. Out of these, the beloved soft drink brand, Coca-Cola, was Americans’ first choice in up to 14 U.S. states. Only a few non-carbonated drinks ranked first, and each did so in just one state.
14 U.S. States Pick Coca-Cola as Their Favorite
The carbonated drink led the list of bubbly beverages in Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, Indiana, Kentucky, and Louisiana. Other states out of the total 14 were Mississippi, Missouri, Nevada, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, and Texas.
All Beverages Included in the Study
After Coca-Cola, the second leading carbonated beverage, as shown in the study, was chosen in 12 U.S. states. Dr Pepper was the top drink in Kansas, Arizona, Utah, Oklahoma, and Nebraska. New Mexico, Idaho, Alaska, and West Virginia also showed it to be a popular drink choice.
The other popular names in the top five list of Power Brands’ study, as mentioned by Allrecipes.com, included Sprite, Pepsi, and Mountain Dew. These carbonated beverages were a favorite in six, five, and four U.S. states, respectively.
After these popular names, Fanta made the list as the top soda in three states. Kool-Aid and Canada Dry are preferred beverage picks in two U.S. states each.
The study further stated that 10 drinks are the No. 1 choice in one U.S. state each. Other state-specific favorites included A&W Root Beer in Iowa, Arizona Iced Tea in Washington, and Ocean Spray in Montana.
Orange Crush, Tropicana, Welch’s, and 7Up were other names with the most popularity in each U.S. state.
The study shows that with the summer season peaking, carbonated drinks are still a refreshing choice for people across the U.S. Out of these, Coca-Cola’s achievement highlights its continued popularity.
