A Washington-based drywall services company with more than 20 years in business has filed for bankruptcy. Founded by Jose A. Carrillo, the company has provided drywall services throughout the Puget Sound area.
The Washington-based company is hoping to reorganize its business while continuing to operate during the bankruptcy proceedings. As of now, several first-day motions have been submitted in the bankruptcy court.
J.A. Carrillo Construction, LLC Seeks Bankruptcy Protection
According to Pacer, J.A. Carrillo Construction, LLC submitted its petition in the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Western District of Washington. The drywall service provider filed for a voluntary Chapter 11 process on December 10.
Attorney Faye C Rasch from Wenokur Riordan PLLC is legally representing J.A. Carrillo Construction, LLC in the proceedings. Judge Christopher M Alston is offering expert supervision in the case.
Company Background
Jose A. Carrillo entered the drywall industry in 2001 after relocating from Mexico to Seattle. Over time, he gained experience in hanging drywall and bidding on custom homes, TI’s, townhouses, and smaller drywall projects.
In 2011, Carrillo Construction widened its scope to multi-family projects by taking up some of the state’s biggest projects in this vertical. Since then, the company has expanded to hundreds of full-time employees and works with general contractors, developers, and architects across the region.
The three main services offered by J.A. Carrillo Construction, LLC include complete drywall services, new construction drywall, and metal stud framing.
