Synopsys, Inc. has confirmed plans to lay off 55 employees at its Sunnyvale facility. The software development company filed an official WARN notice with the state of California. The layoffs are permanent and are scheduled to begin on May 26, 2026.

Tech Firm Synopsys Announces Job Cuts at Silicon Valley Office

Synopsys, Inc. submitted a WARN notice on March 23, 2026, to the California Employment Development Department. According to the filing, a total of 55 employees will be permanently laid off.

The WARN Act is a federal law enacted in 1988 that provides advance notice to workers about upcoming job cuts. Under the Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification (WARN) Act, companies must provide at least 60 days’ advance notice before mass layoffs or plant closures.

No additional details were provided in the filing about specific departments or positions impacted.

The layoffs are expected to take effect on May 26, 2026, at 675 Almanor Avenue in Sunnyvale.
