According to a recent report in The Orlando Business Journal, Las Vegas-based Atelier Dining has acquired Tapa Toro, formerly owned by Katerina and Vassilis Coumbaros, owners of Orlando-based Meraki Food Group. Readers may recognize Atelier Dining as the company that runs Mangoni Italian Market Pizza and Rosallie Le French Cafe in downtown Winter Garden.

“It was a serendipitous moment as we were planning to diversify our business portfolio and allocate more time to our family when Jonathan Pluvinet and his team approached us,” Katerina Coumbaros said in a prepared statement. “The timing couldn’t have been more perfect.”

The report adds that Meraki Food Group will continue operating Taverna Opa Orlando and Kavas Taco + Tequila at Pointe Orlando on International Drive. They will remain at the head of Tapa Toro as the restaurant transitions to its new ownership.

Known for its small plates, paellas, and other dishes representing the breadth of Spanish cuisine, Tapa Toro will be an ideal acquisition for Atelier Dining, which specializes in “European Dining.”
