According to recent reporting in OBJ, Lake Nona’s Boxi Park is upgrading their facilities.

“Tavistock Development Co. is currently seeking a new use permit from the city of Orlando for the popular destination, which includes 12 repurposed shipping containers with a variety of food and drink concepts, as well as beach volleyball courts and a live entertainment venue,” the report states.

Citing Lismarie Gomez, a spokesperson for Tavistock, OBJ reports that the renovation will bring forth four new volleyball courts in coordination with the Phil Dalhausser Beach Volleyball Academy, an enhanced dog park, upgraded restrooms.

“Boxi Park has been instrumental in transforming Lake Nona into a beloved local destination for local families and visitors,” Gomez said in an email. “This new use permit will allow us to continue serving as a community-focused gathering spot, outdoor music venue and beach volleyball destination offering top-quality food and hospitality alongside our always-changing community event programming and special events.

“The continuation of our use permit ensures Boxi Park remains a dynamic and welcoming space for all.”

No timeline has not been set for the improvements to be built and Tavistock declined to share an estimated project cost.
