The growing Tallahassee-based eatery Canopy Road Cafe is planning to expand to Orlando, though no address or municipality has yet been established.
What Now Orlando spoke to co-owner Brad Buckenheimer to get the latest detail on this exciting new development.
“We don’t have a site yet, but we are looking at potential locations in the perimeter of Orlando—Winter Garden, Windermere, places like that. Again, we have nothing locked down and it’ll be somewhere between six months or a year until we lock something down.”
When asked why Orlando is receiving the company’s attention, Mr. Buckenheimer lays out his thinking.
“We’ve studied SEO for some time, seeing where people are when they search for us, and based on that data Orlando is simply the next logical place. We’ve got our eyes basically anywhere within four hours of Tallahassee, where we’re based.”
For unfamiliar readers, Canopy Road Cafe can be understood as a versatile American casual eatery with an emphasis on breakfast and lunch.
“From a guest perspective, our pancakes really cool. They’re our staple and are unique compared to our competitors’. We’re known mainly for breakfast stuff, especially our cinnamon rolls which are insanely popular. For lunch, our burgers are really good: a three-meat blend of sirloin, chuck, and brisket. It was a blend that we came up with ourselves.”
Until the Canopy Road Cafe location finally opens, readers can visit their many locations across the state.
