Raising Cane’s, the famous chicken finger concept that originated in Louisiana, is preparing to open a slew of units in central Florida. According to a report for ClickOrlando, we can expect to begin seeing units open in late 2022.
Co-CEO AJ Kumaran commented about the demand for the company to open restaurants in the Orlando area, according to the Click Orlando report. “We get a lot of requests on a regular basis to open restaurants in various cities, and I have to say the ask and the scream for Orlando and Florida in general continues to dominate.”
The brand has rather unconventional origins. Founder Todd Graves first presented the idea for the concept in a business class, and he received the lowest grade on the basis that no chicken-finger-only concept would ever work. Graves then presented his plans to bankers, who turned him down.
To raise his own capital, Graves became a boiler-maker at oil refineries and eventually went to Alaska to commercially fish for salmon. Once the money was raised, Graves helped build the first location himself, and since then, they have opened over 500 units.
Exact locations have not been made public, but we can expect to see units in Orlando, Kissimmee, Osceola County and Altamonte Springs so far.
