Pet parents will have a new place to hang with their fur babies when Dougie’s Dog Bar opens at 1978 Stanhome Way in Orlando.

Dougie’s Dog Bar is set to open in mid to late-December, according to Adam Harbin, vice president at The P4 Group, which also owns and manages pet daycare, boarding, and grooming centers in Atlanta, Chattanooga, and Huntsville under the Ark and Slobberbones brands.

A place where dogs and their humans could gather over a drink and a meal has been a longtime goal, says Harbin. “We’ve always had a vision to have a dog bar,” he said, adding, “there are dog-friendly restaurants, but our catch phrase is a human-friendly dog bar that you can bring your human to”.

Harbin said that the Orlando location — next door to Highpoint Climbing Gym – was the perfect spot for Dougie’s Dog Bar. “They have some extra square footage, so we partnered with them.” Dougie’s will provide day care for people using the gym. And, afterward, everyone can meet for a good time.

Dougie’s will offer a human menu of beer, wine, frozen drinks, along with pizza and select bar food. The inside, according to laws, will technically be humans only, but dogs have plenty of room to enjoy the patio. The real fun is in the outdoor space — close to 8,000 square feet of unleashed play area for dogs to romp, play, and make new friends while their humans enjoy a cold one.

The space will also feature a big 16-foot Jumbotron for both canines and people to enjoy movies and football. There will also be splash pads for dogs to cool off in. Dougie’s will offer day passes, as well as memberships for dogs to enjoy the outdoor play area and activities.

Harbin says that, while there are other dog bars in the country, Dougie’s aims to be the best. “We’ve done our research,” he says.
