The iconic Fatburger is expanding in Central and West Florida.

Fatburger’s parent company, FAT (Fresh, Authentic, Tasty) Brands, Inc. has reached development deal with franchisee Whole Factor, Inc. to open 40 new Fatburger locations across Florida over the next decade, with 14 of them marked for the Orlando area. So far, there are two Fatburger locations in Central Florida in Riverview and Celebration. In a press release, Taylor Wiederhorn, Co-CEO and Chief Development Officer of FAT Brands said, “Two years ago, Fatburger made its return to the state of Florida after a 20-year absence, and we are not looking back.”

Franchisee Whole Factor seems to be actively looking for spaces. A recent Instagram post by JLL Florida Retail Brokers announced it was actively looking for sites for its client. Idea location specs include 2,000 to 3,000 square feet spaces in Central Florida that area near universities and/or hospitals. The wish list for properties included high visibility with great signage, easy parkling in bustling areas, and a drive-thru required.

Calling itself “the last great hamburger stand”, founder Lovie Yancy opened Fatburger  in Los Angeles more than 70 years ago. The chain is known for its grilled-to-order burgers that can be customized with items ranging from bacon to eggs to onion rings. The chain also offers both fat and skinny fries, sweet potato fries, scratch-made onion rings, Impossible Burgers, turkey burgers, crispy chicken sandwiches, and hand-scooped milkshakes.
