F&D Cantina is opening a second location at 617 E Central Blvd in Thornton Park and a goal is set for September, says CEO Charly Robinson.

When reached on the phone, Robinson was confident that the Thornton Park location will open and run just as smoothly as the Lake Mary location did and are excited to come to the area.

Robinson said he plans to completely remodel the space that resides at East Central Blvd that used to house Jax Thornton Park Deli And Ale House, a restaurant that closed in September of 2020 due to the pandemic.

Hiring staff, which he believes will start happening around August, as well as construction and suppliers is all underway and should be all done by September, Robinson doesn’t foresee any major issues happening by then.

Theres a ton of growth and bustling businesses going on in Thornton Park and it seems it will be a great fit for the restaurant to move to. Robinson says he chose the area due to its great community and that they like to be in neighborhoods.

“It all felt right,” said Robinson.

The Lake Mary cantina suffered damages from a car driving into it on accident, but Robinson said after renovations, they expect it to reopen in the middle of July.

F&D Cantina serves delicious Mexican-style cuisine, their current menu includes a lot of out-of-the-ordinary dishes like Mexican street corn, bacon-wrapped jalapeños, puffy tacos, and even vegan “beyond” tacos.
