Growing breakfast food chain First Watch will be making improvements to its Winter Springs location, according to recent reporting in OBJ.

“Work isn’t quite done at the new First Watch restaurant that opened May 13 at 5723 Red Bug Lake Road in Winter Springs, as the eatery soon will welcome dogs,” the report states.

In order for these changes to take place, the company has filed for a permit to build a patio, said Director of Operations Danny Justiniano, which should come through in about three weeks.

“Then it will only take about a week to build, so we’ll have outdoor seating pretty soon,” he said to Orlando Business Journal.

The outdoor dining area will reportedly have 12 tables and six bar seats. Heaters and fans will help with climate control.

“All the new stores in the area are being planned with outdoor, dog-friendly spaces in mind. Some of the older ones are being retrofitted to get outdoor seating, too,” he said.

Further articulating the big-picture plan regarding the company’s pet policy, Public Relations Manager Hunter Carpenter told OBJ that “because there are so many stores in so many states and zoning varies from place to place, it will take time to establish a nationwide policy.”
