El Burro Loco, a former Mexican street food truck, will be opening a restaurant at 6524 Carrier Dr. soon. After losing the food truck in an electrical fire in March, owner Alejandro Cordoba eventually negotiated a deal for a new brick-and-mortar restaurant.

What Now Miami spoke with Cordoba over the phone about his new restaurant. He says the restaurant will still serve Mexican street food but the menu will be expanded. Cordoba credits the success of his former food truck to the birria tacos they made. The restaurant will also serve foods like chicken quesadillas, burritos, carnitas fries and Mexican desserts.

Cordoba says “Our concept is big portions. The goal for our restaurant is to make it an Orlando staple.” He hopes to hold food challenges to put on YouTube and to make the restaurant very interactive with customers and their social media following.

The restaurant is currently under construction and will be taking over a former Indian restaurant. Cordoba says he expects the restaurant to open during the first week of September in 2022. For more information about El Burro Loco, check out their Facebook and their Instagram pages.
