Mochiry, the mochi doughnut sensation that has captured Gainesville’s heart, is coming to Orlando.
The shop is set to open at 20 S. Orange Avenue before the end of February 2026, according to franchise owner, Muhammad Jalil.
Jalil tells What Now Orlando that this is the second location for Mochiry, which sells all sorts of Instagrammable treats. The Gainesville shop has an overall four-star Yelp rating for its clean shop, Korean corn dogs, milk teas, and more.
Korean corn dogs are vastly different that the typical state fair snack. These treats on a stick feature a chewy, sweet (almost cakelike) batter that encases hot dogs or mozzarella cheese. They’re then rolled in toppings like potato or ramen noodles before being fried.
Main Alqwasmi and Yousef Shaban opened the Gainesville shop in 2024 after deciding to open a unique concept rather than buy into a franchise. The shop instantly became a hit with local students who flocked to the shop for its Hot Cheetos Korean corn dogs and mochi doughnuts.
The Orlando Mochiry will offer the same menu of favorites like ramen or potato Korean corn dogs, Dubai strawberry cups drizzled with chocolate and pistachio, mochi doughnuts, mochi balls, and boba. Jalil is eager to open the new location, adding that if it’s successful more might be on the way.
