According to a recent report in The Orlando Business Journal, Hooters, the famous wing restaurant chain, will soon begin developing locations in The Villages, an enormous retirement community that spans Lake, Sumter and Marion counties.
Reportedly, HMC Hospitality Group reached an agreement with Hooters’ parent company HOA Brands to open three area locations, on top of three other units in the Las Vegas, NV area.
“The people in The Villages have asked for Hooters, and we are here to deliver,” said Neil Kiefer, CEO of HMC Hospitality Group, adding that each new unit being developed for The Villages will cost between $1.2 million and $2.5 million.
“Kiefer said his group is in talks with real estate brokers in The Villages and has potential sites in mind, though nothing is finalized,” the report says. “He said the market has several sites that meet the criteria the group is seeking, namely good visibility, high traffic and sufficient parking.”
What Now Orlando reached out to Mr. Kiefer to inquire about the development, but he was not immediately available for comment.
In any case, readers can expect the new area locations to open in 2024.
