College Park is set to receive another bagel shop in place of one past. Owner Jeff Perera is opening another outfit of Jeff’s Bagel Run into the shuttered Belanger Bagels unit at 4339 Edgewater Dr.
According to Perera, he and his team signed the lease today, on April 1st, and are gearing up to ready the space for their concept. As of now, they are targeting the end of May for an opening. Perera reports that he will hire between four and six employees to run the outfit.
Tragically, the space became available when Eric Belanger, former owner of Belanger Bagels, was diagnosed with stage four cancer. As of February 28, the shop has been closed. When Belanger decided to close down, Perera and his business partner and wife were his first call, informing them of the space that would soon be available, the Orlando Sentinel reported.
According to their website, the Perera couple decided to open their Ocoee outfit in 2019 after realizing that they couldn’t find a good bagel within 45 minutes of their home. Now, the company is getting ready to expand to a second location.
