The national ice cream chain Jeni’s Ice Creams will soon be opening a Winter Park location at 510 North Orlando Avenue, within Suite 102, according to a recent filing with the State of Florida. The store will be located within the Winter Park Village shopping center, near the Regal Cinemas.
What is perhaps most notable about Jeni’s Ice Creams is the dedication and success of its founder, Jeni Britton. According to the company website, as a 22-year old art student deeply interested in aroma, Jeni Britton began blending her own oils in her spare time. One day, out of pure chance, she mixed cayenne into chocolate ice cream and found the resulting flavor so memorable that it kickstarted her foray into ice cream making. Since then, Jeni has written a book on ice cream making and has won a James Beard award for her culinary endeavors.
Jeni’s features interesting flavors such as Pistachio Macaron, Powdered Jelly Donut, and Wildberry Lavender, among many others, and has prominent locations throughout the United States, such as Los Angeles, Philadelphia, and DC.
What Now Orlando reached out to Jeni and co-owner Charly to inquire about the upcoming Winter Park location, but they were not immediately available for comment.
