According to the Department of Business and Professional Regulation, a new location of Kentucky Friend Chicken is planned for Lakeland. KBP Brands, the restaurant franchising group, is behind the chain’s appearance in Polk County.

Per the filing, which was initiated on May 3, the new fried chicken joint will appear at 3695 Innovation Drive. It will be just down the road from several eateries, like Sonic Drive-In, Palace Pizza and Subway.

What Now has reached out to Christie Hughes, the Vice President of Development for KBP Foods, and we have phoned the KBP corporate office for more information regarding the new franchise, but neither have returned our calls.

The KBP has been actively acquiring and planting restaurants throughout the United States since 1999. The main focus of KBP seems to be Kentucky Fried Chicken, Taco Bell, A&W’s and Long John Silver’s. To find out more about the restaurant franchising group, visit their history page here.
