A Jersey Mike’s Subs will join the Publix that recently opened at the west corner of Plymouth Sorrento Road & Kelly Park Road in Apopka. Located in Kelly Park Crossing, the 1,500 square-foot space will be the latest for the brand, which has more than 2,000 locations across the country.

Established in 1956 in Point Pleasant, New Jersey as Mike’s Subs, submarine sandwiches were a new concept at that time. Jersey Mike’s CEO Peter Cancro purchased the original store in 1971 when he was only 17-years-old.

The brand introduced Mike’s Way, a standard sandwich dress that includes lettuce, onion, tomatoes, oil, vinegar, and spices. Serving both cold and hot sandwiches, Mike’s Famous Philly combines steak, grilled onions, peppers, and white American cheese. Chips, cookies, brownies and fountain drinks are available as well.

There’s no word yet on when the new location is expected to open.
