The local Brazilian snack restaurant, Top Salgados, has left its Ocoee base and will now operate in Orlando, according to Bahía-born owner Sandra Carvalho. The new location will be at 5685 Vineland Road, next to Border Grill and Kabab House Orlando.

Top Salgados has long defined itself as a top place for Brazilian snack-bar fare in Central Florida, featuring foods such as fried yucca, pão de queijo (cheese bread), and coxinha de frango (fried chicken pastry). Popular throughout the Portuguese-speaking world, snack foods such as these are ideal for a work break or to have with an afternoon coffee.

Having run Top Salgados’s operation in Central Florida for over ten years under her company Salgadinhos Orlando INC, Carvalho tells What Now Orlando that new ideas are planned his location—offering a robust lunch menu with traditional Bahían dishes and churrasco (or coal-flamed bar-b-que) on the weekends are two changes Carvalho imagines for the restaurant’s future.

Curious foodies in Longwood can also try some of Carvalho’s selections at her food truck Brazilian Snacks at 725 S Ronald Reagan  Blvd (Suite 109).
