Mediterranean Cuisine, a locally owned Mediterranean restaurant, will soon be opening in Melbourne, according to a recent filing with the State of Florida. The restaurant will be located at 1288 Sarno Road, near eateries such as McDonald’s and Latin Flavor.

Owner Zaid Hussein tells What Now Orlando that the restaurant will be serving classic Mediterranean fare such as  shawarma, gyro, falafel, hummus, lamb chops, tabbouleh and desserts such as baklava and other pastries. Mr. Hussein adds that the restaurant will be around 1300 square feet and may include two outdoor tables.

When asked why he has decided to open his very first restaurant, Mr. Hussein tells the publication that he has years of experience working in the culinary industry and feels that he has enough experience to lead his own project.

Explaining why he chose this specific location to open his debut restaurant, Mr. Hussein says “I like the area and there’s not many Mediterranean options here.”

When Mr. Hussein’s restaurant finally opens, it will be only the second Mediterranean establishment north of the Melbourne-Orlando International Airport.
