According to recent reporting in Orlando Weekly, a popular local eatery has earned a spot at the upcoming additions to Orlando International Aiport, representing bright stars in the city’s local culinary landscape.

“I have always loved airports! I travelled quite extensively when I was younger and just always love the airport atmosphere,” the official Maxine’s Facebook account stated in a recent comment.

“My husband and I went into the restaurant business 13 years ago and boy has it been a tough. A recession and a pandemic! We opened Maxine’s on Shine 13 years ago this coming January 6.”

‘We are grateful and excited to be one of the chosen restaurants for the Orlando international airport, and from what we understand we are to be involved with terminal B. We look forward to the process, the design and sharing our recipes and being part of bringing the local vibe to the Orlando international airport and to our city beautiful!”

Readers unfamiliar with Maxine’s can refer to their self-definition: “a neighborhood restaurant” that is “diverse, comfortable, and delicious with a splash o’ sexiness.”

The award-winning establishment serves up upscale dishes such as picanha, lobster ravioli, lamb ragout alongside a thorough selection of wines from Europe and the Americas, among local brews.
