Air travel can be taxing: crowds, delays, security checks and more can make anyone feel like they need some comfort. That’s why favorite restaurants like McDonald’s can be such a welcome sight in the middle of Orlando International Airport (MCO).

Busy families traveling through MCO (1 Jeff Fuqua Boulevard) will be happy to know that the airport is getting an additional McDonald’s as part of the airport’s Concession Master Plan that was approved by the Greater Orlando Aviation Authority (GOAA)’s Board last Wednesday, as part of the airport’s Phase 2 expansion that will take two years to complete. In total, about 40 new restaurants and retail shops will be added to the airports list of passenger conveniences, including notable names such as Chick-fil-A, CAVA, and Panda Express.

Although many restaurants will be operated by airport concessionaires, McDonald’s Corporation will operate the new restaurant, to be located at the Landside Food Court. This will be the second McDonald’s at MCO, with a restaurant currently open by Gates 100-129.

According to McDonald’s Corporation, there are more than 38000 locations in over 100 countries around the globe. The restaurant was founded in 1940 as a drive-in restaurant in San Bernadino, California and today is the largest restaurant chain by revenue.
