Mulligan’s Lagoon Pizza Pub & Putt, a new mini golf experience with a food & beverage component, is soon coming to 2504 S Atlantic Avenue in Daytona Beach, according to recent public records.

“They are proposing a putt putt and a small restaurant by our definition, like pizza and drinks,” City Planner Noel Eaton stated in a 2023 Volusia Home News report. “I haven’t seen the building plans, but they are proposing a new concept from what I have heard. We haven’t seen the plans for the course itself yet.”

The establishment will be run by Ormond Beach resident David Bailey, who owns Miniature Golf Solutions by Bailey Consulting Inc. “with which he has more than 25 years experience in all aspects of working as a mini-golf designer of some of the world’s finest miniature golf facilities,” the report adds.

“The son of the builder (of Hawaiian Falls Golf) is actually a partner of mine in this new one,” Mr. Bailey said. “They leased the property for 50-plus years and the lease ran out and we were able to purchase the land. The course was in serious need of revamping, so we just decided to go ahead and completely demo it and start over.”

Mr. Bailey will reportedly run Mulligan’s Lagoon alongside partners Matthew Bailey, Jim Sidwell, Chris Bethea and Tom Horne.

“Chris, Jim and I have been working together over 20 years and have a number of courses around the country,” Mr. Bailey said. “Pirate’s Cove and Pirate’s Island I (am also) a small part owner of and helped build them.”

“We will start building the golf course within a week or two. The golf course part should open in four to five months. I think Pirate’s Island (in Daytona Beach Shores) was the last (outdoor putt putt) to open, and that is 25 years old.”

As to the restaurant he stated they were planning menu items, such as pizza, beer, wine and snow cones, the report states, adding that Mr. Horne was brought on for his restaurant expertise.
