Mister O1, the Miami-based pizza shop that’s turned into a sensation, is growing yet again.
The restaurant is opening a new pizza shop at Orlando’s Waterford Lakes (549 N. Alafaya Trail, Suite 80). According to franchise owner, Karen Armando Cohen, the shop should open in the next few months.
Italian chef Renato Viola opened the first Mister O1 in a Miami Beach office building, naming the shop after the U.S. O-1 Visa that allows individuals with “extraordinary abilities” to enter the country — usually in sports, arts, or sciences. Viola received the visa for his culinary talents.
The pizza shop quickly grew in popularity for its artisanal thin-crust pizzas that uses dough that’s been fermented for 72-96 hours, topped with premium ingredients. All of the pizzas are delicious, but Mister O1’s star-shaped pizzas are the standouts. Customers can buy the special 13-inch star pizzas in a variety of different styles including the Star Luca with ricotta, mozzarella, Italian tomato sauce, spice salami Calabrese, and basil; and the Star Beckham, filled with ricotta, mozzarella, bacon, red onion, fresh tomatoes, ranch dressing, and basil. The restaurant also offers gluten free pizzas, calzones, vegetarian options, and more.
From one pizza shop, there are now nearly three dozen Mister O1 locations throughout Florida, Texas, and Georgia — with more to come.
