A new café, Roundhouse Restaurant, will be opening at 1025 George Jenkins Blvd on the premises of the new Bonnet Springs Park in Lakeland, according to a recent filing with the State of Florida. The park’s official address is 400 Bonnet Springs Blvd.

Josh Henderson, CEO of Bonnet Springs Park, tells What Now Orlando that the restaurant will serve primarily as an “upscale coffee shop” during the day, offering Starbucks products to coffee lovers and remote workers in the air-conditioned, 100-seat space. In the evenings, Mr. Henderson hopes the space will serve as a wine bar with tapas and a dessert offering.

Bonnet Springs park in itself is an impressive new development in the state of Florida. Repurposed from Lakeland’s historic but derelict railways, the ambitious and modern park will span 168 acres, just 45 minutes from downtown Orlando. The park will feature several playgrounds and lawns, a children’s museum, a lagoon with a boardwalk, a greenhouse, a treehouse, a peace pagoda and a multitude of other public spaces and facilities sure to elevate the quality of life for Central Floridians.

The park’s grand opening is slated for October 22.
