One of the U.S.’s largest airports is undergoing massive additions and renovations.
Orlando International Airport(MCO), located at 1 Jeff Fuqua Blvd, and rated the ninth largest airport in the country by the Federal Aviation Administration, just announced more improvements. In a press release, the airport announced that the Greater Orlando Aviation Authority (GOAA) Board approved a major redevelopment agreement that will deliver a new state-of-the-art terminal and expand hangar facilities. In addition, MCO announced a multi-year Concession Master Plan that would bring 40 additional restaurants, bars, and shops to the Airport’s Terminals A and B, as part of its $5.9 billion multi-year Capital Improvement Plan.
The additional restaurants and improvements will take as long as three years to finish, with the final phase to be complete by the end of 2028. The first phase of restaurants was announced previously, with hospitality company OTG tasked with developing and operating Black Bean Deli, Eola Wine Company, Hinckley’s Fancy Meats, Maxine’s on Shine, Otto’s High Dive, Stasio’s Italian Deli & Market, Smoke & Donuts BBQ, and Starbucks. In addition, The Kitchens Food Hall will house Bobby’s Burgers by Bobby Flay, MOD Pizza, Seito Sushi on the Fly, and The Halal Guys.
The second group of restaurants opening at the airport have been announced, with several different operators winning bids. Central Florida Hospitality Partners, led by HMSHost, will operate Bahia Bowls, Chick-fil-A, Shake Shack, and Panda Express, according to Airport Experience News.
SSP America won a separate bid to operate Piggza, Starbucks, Bricks & Bowls, Sambazon, Naya Middle Eastern, Einstein Brothers Bagels, and an additional Chick-fil-A.
