The pizza-BBQ fusion restaurant Pigzza will soon be opening in Orlando, according to a recent filing with the State of Florida. The restaurant will be located in the Colonialtown neighborhood at 1050 North Mills Avenue, near Plantee’s and Will’s Pub.

Despite an anticipated opening in 2021, Pigzza faced obstacles in the permitting process and the project was unfortunately pushed back.

“It’s been a very tedious process in terms of permitting with the City of Orlando,” Owner Thomas Ward tells What Now Orlando.

“When someone applies for a “change of use” permit, it’s a different process. Finally we got our permit and were just able to start construction.”

When asked what the projected opening date will be now, Mr. Ward says he is aiming for a March 1st, 2023 grand opening. He maintains that the concept, as reported in 2021, has stayed exactly the same.
