Pioco’s Chicken, the family-run restaurant that specializes in Puerto-Rican-style rotisserie chicken, is opening a new location in Saint Cloud.
The restaurant just applied for a permit with the Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulation to open a restaurant at 5160 Boggy Creek Road. An exact opening date has not been set. An Instagram post confirms the news, writing, “We are excited to fire up our new ovens to bring our Puerto Rican flavored grilled chicken to St Cloud and Lake Nona.”
Known for its Puerto Rican dishes, Pioco’s opened its first location in Buena Ventura Lakes in 2000. Led by owners Miguel Fontanez Sr. and Miguel Fontanez Jr., the new location, adorned with a mural of happy chickens, will offer indoor dining for 207 people, along with a dedicated takeout area so customers can quickly grab a nutritious meal to take home to their hungry families.
The star of the show here is the rotisserie chicken that can be order as a whole, half, or quarter. Other dishes include pork ribs, fried pork, and steak and onions. Guests can order mofongo — a Puerto Rican classic made from smashed fried plantains, olive oil, garlic, and salt — on its own or topped with chicken or any other protein. Sides include plantains, yuca, tostones, and fries. Pioco’s also sells an array of sandwiches, soups, and more.
