The owner of the former Cleo’s Lounge is bringing College Park another watering hole, according to plan review filings with the Department of Business and Professional Regulation. Willie Tharpe hinted at the bar in a previous report of ours, but we’ve come back with some more relevant information.

Tharpe previously told What Now of his plans to bring a bar to College Park, and that they were seeking a change-of-use approval from the city. As the plan review suggests, the bar will appear at 2212 Edgewater Drive, where the former Stuart Jewelry store used to reside. It will be across the street from Tijuana Flats and Jeremiah’s Italian Ice.

Per the filing, the name of the bar will be CleNolia’s, which nods to the previous Cleo’s Lounge moniker. When the bar will open is unknown. What Now reached out to Tharpe again on Thursday, but he declined to provide any information. The plan review was initiated on May, 16, 2022.

In addition to CleNolia’s, Tharpe has been active in Downtown as well. He is planning to re-opened Magnolia’s on S Magnolia Avenue as well.
