Playa Bowls is bringing healthful, fruit bowls and more to New Smyrna Beach and Daytona Beach.
The casual shop that offers delicious acai bowls and much more is moving into 102 S. Copper Street in New Smyrna Beach on December 5. This will be the first Playa Bowls in Volusia County.
In addition, a second shop will open at 2475 W. International Speedway Boulevard, Suite 204, and should be open for guests by early 2026.
Owner Roxanne Vogel tells What Now Orlando that the shop’s proximity to Daytona International Speedway makes it idea for racing fans, beachgoers, and locals to all make a “pit stop” for a healthy lunch or snack.
Vogel, who also owns the Playa Bowls in Coral Gables, is excited to share the concept with the two Central Florida cities. “We’ve had tremendous feedback already, and we’re looking forward to meeting everyone”.
Playa Bowls started as a pop-up smoothie shop in Belmar on the famed Jersey Shore by Robert Giuliani and Abby Taylor — two surfers who wanted to bring the unique flavors of the açaà bowls they enjoyed while visiting surfing destinations like Costa Rica, Nicaragua, and Puerto Rico. Almost a dozen year later, there are more than 300 Playa Bowls locations throughout the country.
The shop gained its popularity by serving açaÃ, pitaya, and coconut bowls, along with smooties using high quality ingredients with sustainability and community in mind. In addition, Playa Bowls offers cold brews, juices, and cold pressed juices to the communities it serves.
