The Yardery, an interactive outdoor dining, drinking, and playing experience will be coming soon to Historic Downtown Sanford according to the website. The 2,232 square-foot business is located at 415 E. 4th Street and gets its name from combining the words yard and eatery.

The concept was inspired by the ways in which society has had to find a new normal since the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic. With open-air, fast-casual dining and popular games like billiards, table tennis, foosball, cornhole, ladder toss, and more, all guest areas are outdoors, fully fenced, and protected from the elements by gazebos, pavilions, pergolas, or sail shades for a safe, social entertainment experience.

Guests can enjoy built-in game boards and a fire pit lounge. The menu will feature burgers, hot dogs, ribs, and chicken as well as artisan flatbreads and appetizers. Bagels and bagel sandwiches made fresh daily by Co-owner and Bagel Master Bernie Huckestein are also available.

According to previous media coverage, Huckestein’s business partner, Suzanne Bonham, was the first to introduce Urban Flats restaurants to Central Florida in 2005.

Located next door to Best Fish and Chicken Wings and across from JALY Fresh Market, The Yardery will partner with other neighboring businesses, including Wop’s Hops Brewing Company and Sanford Brewing Company to create speciality beers unique to The Yardery. Guests can enjoy drinks via the outdoor bar or high-top table service.
