According to a recent report in Bungalower, famed Seattle bakery Piroshky Piroshky will be soon coming to Orlando’s Ivanhoe Park Brewing Company at 1300 Alden Rd.
“The Eastern European-inspired bakery has been serving up tasty eats since 1992 and will be bringing its signature turnovers and handmade baked goods to Orlando as part of a cross-country pop-up tour,” the website states.
“The pies will be handmade, flash-frozen, and ready for pickup on January 9 at Ivanhoe Park Brewing Company in Ivanhoe Village. Your last day to order is January 7 and there’s a minimum order amount of $50.”
Unfamiliar readers can expect an inventive menu of piroshkis ranging from savory to sweet. At the Orlando event in particular readers will find beef & cheese, chocolate cream, smoked salmon pate, potato & cheese, cinnamon & cardamom, and veggie chipotle pastries.
According to her city council campaign website, owner Olga Sagan “immigrated to America in 1999 when she was 16 years old. She overcame adversity and language barriers to make it on her own in the community of downtown Seattle which she grew to love.”
“As an immigrant, Olga learned the value of hard work and determination. She began sweeping floors at a local bakery called Piroshky Piroshky, which specializes in Eastern European cuisine. There, Olga was promoted from shift lead to supervisor to manager, and in 2006, became a part owner. In 2017, she bought the bakery outright to become its sole owner.”
