The chili and hot dog chain Skyline Chili will soon open in Winter Garden, according to a recent filing with the State of Florida. The restaurant will be located at 2231 Western Way, next to a Firehouse Subs.
For those unfamiliar with the brand, Franchisee Daniel Hunsucker explains to What Now Orlando, “Skyline Chili is most famous for two things: the Cheese Coneys and the Ways. A Cheese Coney is a hot dog with a steamed bun, mustard, onion, chili and shredded cheddar cheese. It is the perfect size that fits in your hand! The Ways are often what people describe when talking Cincinnati-style chili because they feature the unique combination of chili on top of spaghetti. Skyline serves the 3, 4, and 5-Way. The 3-Way is spaghetti noodles, topped with chili freshly grated cheddar cheese. A 4-Way is a 3-Way with beans or onions; a 5-Way is a 3-Way with both beans and onions!”
When asked if the facility itself will feature any unique specs or amenities, Mr. Hunsacker says, “Skyline is set up like a diner. Servers will take your order and the food is made right in front of you at our steamtable. There will be bar seating that allows customers to watch and interact with the team. We pride ourselves on hospitality and quick service. Families can enjoy a nice dinner together without a long wait for hungry kids! The vibe is easy and welcoming. We will also have a drive thru service for added convenience for customers on the go. “
And what drew Mr. Husacker to franchise a Skyline Chili in the first place?
“I was working at Disney as a food and beverage manager for years, and I always had the entrepreneur spirit. I wanted to be my own boss and knew I needed some help so I decided a franchise was best for me. I wanted to franchise a brand I had a deep passion for, and Skyline was a great fit for me. It was my first and only choice – just like when I was choosing what to eat as a kid growing up in Cincinnati!”
Hunsacker and his team anticipate a Skyline Chili grand opening sometime in early 2023.
