Cocoa Beach will be home to the first Florida location of Sweet Rolled Tacos. The rolled ice cream company has been making a splash in places like California and Utah, but the Sunshine State hasn’t seen any action – until now.

Franchisee Shelly Deason spoke with What Now on Monday and shared that she and her husband Brad are headed to 5240 N Atlantic Ave. In a small strip mall, the dessert shop will neighbor Q’s Crackin’ Crab & Seafood Kitchen, Mexico’s Grill and Pizzola.

Deason shared that they are moving into a former juice shop, so once their permits are approved, they will only need to make minor changes to the space before opening. She estimates a June 1st opening, depending on the city’s approval.

The whole state of Florida is part of a broad expansion initiative as well. Lowell Moore, who owns the franchising rights to the whole state, shared that he is partnering with franchisees to open locations from Tampa, Miami, Fort Lauderdale, Daytona Beach and more.

“We’re looking at doing new things here. We’re targeting high-traffic and destination locations… Florida is a great market with a lot of activities because of the beaches and attractions,” Moore said.
