Get ready for fizzy refreshment, Oviedo, because Swig is coming to town.
The Utah-based dirty soda chain filed permit applications with the Florida Board of Business and Professional Regulation to open a shop at 3607 Aloma Avenue. At this time, no timeline has been announced for an opening date.
Swig is best known for its custom soda blends that combine soft drinks such as Coke or Dr. Pepper with flavored syrup, coconut cream, or heavy cream. The drive-thru shops also sell energy drinks called Revivers, non-carbonated drinks called Refreshers, and hot chocolate. Swig also sells light snacks like pretzel bites and cookies.
The company was founded in 2010 by Nicole Tanner, who wanted to create an alternative drink to iced coffees. Tanner opened a tiny “dirty soda” drive-thru stand in St. George, Utah which grew in popularity. The brand is becoming part of America’s zeitgeist, with celebrities like Olivia Rodrigo and the cast of The Secret Lives of Mormon Lives enjoying Swig beverages.
Today, there are more than 120 locations across the U.S., with the brand spreading east from its Utah origins — through both corporate-owned and franchise strategies.
