The Soup Shop, the wildly popular Melbourne soup restaurant, is planning to open this year in Viera and West Melbourne, according to recent reports. The Viera restaurant, run by Julie and Philip Shipley, will be located within the Addison Square development at 7500 Lake Andrew Dr.
“We now have two locations opening a month apart from each other and we’re hoping that will be by September of 2023,” Julie Shipley said to the Viera Voice. “We’re waiting on permits to start in Addison. The location of our other restaurant will be at the Publix Shopping Plaza next to Hammock Landing in West Melbourne.”
Originally slated to open in the Crossings at Viera shopping center in 2024, the original lease agreement was nullified by Whole Foods Market, who signed to join the space under the condition of a “non-compete agreement”, which Shipley’s shop would be in violation of, according to Click 6.
Unfamiliar reasons can expect a hearty variety of soups at this long-standing no-frills restaurant, such as chili, broccoli and cheese, lentil, lobster bisque, and many others.
