Neveria Y Antojitos Los Traviesos, a locally-owned ice cream shop, will soon be opening in Daytona Beach, according to recent public records. The establishment will be opening at 1220 N Nova Road, near La Perla Latin Store.

“We will focus on artisanal ice cream and popsicles,” owner Cristian Mafara tells What Now Orlando. “We also want to introduce snacks such as chicharrones preparados, dorilocos, and tostilocos. There will be two tables, but it’ll be more of a takeout establishment. ”

When asked why he decided to open this business in Daytona Beach, Mr. Mafara points to a lack of selection in the area.

“I chose to open a business like this since we don’t have traditional Mexican establishments such as this in the area. The location is a little further off from the tourist path, so we hope to provide traditional Mexican ice cream for the locals, deeper in the city, away from the traffic and restrictive parking.”

While Mafara still does not have any set opening dates, he looks forward to work through the permitting process in the coming months and open soon after that.
