The Winter Park City Commission is purchasing the Winter Pines Golf Club in a deal that is expected to finalize on or before April 29, according to the32789. With this ownership shake-up, the food and beverage outfit will see a new head of operations.

Paul Twyford, the co-founder of Winter Park Distilling Company, was recently approved to operate the golf club concessions under a new company. In a separate report from the32789, Twyford is quoted saying, “We obviously want to continue to serve the golfers who have been patrons for many years. But we also want to draw people in from the neighboring community who want a place to congregate and eat with friends, and have a drink, so we will definitely be doing some happy hour specials and that sort of thing.”

Once the city takes over operations in May, Twyford and his team will begin work in the space. Details of what exactly will be altered or added are unknown. However, Twyford told the32789 that he plans to turn what has traditionally been just a snack bar into a more upscale lounge. Expect to find a well-stocked bar that will inevitably feature Winter Park Distilling Company’s libations.

Twyford’s team will have 14 days to turn the space around and begin serving the community once the renovations begin. When exactly the work will start is unknown. What Now reached out to Twyford for details, but we have yet to hear back.
