Homestyle Cuban food is coming to SODO when Zaza Cuban Comfort Food opens at 1621 S. Orange Avenue.
The newest location of Zaza is slated to open in the first quarter of 2026, according to Business Debut, and will have seating for about 55 people, along with an outdoor terrace.
Ruben and Laura Perez, along with Bob and Heidi Coyne founded Zaza Cuban Comfort Food, opening the first location at Orlando International Airport in 2015. The menu is inspired by Ruben’s family and their long history in the hospitality industry, which began in Cuban with his grandfather, Don Pepe. The restaurant mission is to serve “familia tradition”, by providing authentic Cuban comfort food using generations-old recipes and methods.
Zaza’s serves all the classics including lechon asado with black beans and rice, Cubanos (Cuban sandwiches), savory empanadas, classic breakfast platters, and freshly baked pastries.
Of course, no day is complete without a café con leche or espressito. Zaza’s uses premium high-altitude coffee that’s artisan roasted in the United States for its beverages for an elevated cup.
The restaurant also offers sandwich combo deals, an afternoon coffee hour, and discounts for first responders while in uniform.
Zaza’s now has locations throughout Central Florida including in Altamonte Springs, Casselberry, and the flagship at Orlando International Airport.
