RD Management have introduced a massive mixed-use development to include residential and commercial properties. They have now partnered with The Cordish Companies to roll out plans for the entertainment aspect of the development. The site may eventually need voter approval with a sports and wagering element involved in their entertainment facility.
Live! Oxford Town Center have plans to build on just over 70,000 square feet of the Oxford Town Center property in Fern Park off of Highway 17-92.
The sports facility is promised to be an upscale space featuring various dining establishments, televised sporting events on big screens, and a poker room. This is a destination for sports and gaming fans to gather and wager on their favorite events and competitions.
Richard Birdoff of RD Management promises much more than just a gaming site. Current plans layout a country-themed restaurant along with an outdoor music and entertainment venue. While a lot of numbers are being worked into the project components, it’s projected to become a destination site bringing in around $3.9 million in revenue a year.
The Cordish Companies run the Live! sports bars in Atlanta, Philadelphia, Arlington, St. Louis, and more. They also run a mix of arena venues, hotels, and casino facilities across the country.
However, the project will need to be introduced to local voters because of the gaming component. Seminole County requires casino establishments to gain voter approval before their build-out. Live! Oxford Town Center is due to present to commissioners in January 2022. From there, voters may see the referendum on their November 2022 ballot to decide on the project’s fate.
